web design / development
The handful of sites featured directly below are some of those I still have some hand in, or are at least ‘new’ enough to have not changed too dramatically from the pages I originally published.
Below that you’ll find a list of the other people and organisations I’ve done work for. And if you want to read about the kind of stuff I use to make these, then you can read the Technical section on this page.
The Occasion Theatre
Based in Glasgow, The Occasion was founded in 2010 by Peter Clerke and Catherine Gillard. Previous to this they had both shared the Artistic Directorship of the Scottish touring theatre company, benchtours (1991 – 2009). The Occasion have toured both nationally and internationally with their shows The Taking of Zena Charbonne, Apocalypse and The Monster & Mary Shelley.
The Occasion set up The Southside Group – an initiative designed to increase opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to become involved in theatre – in February 2020 for a series of sessions at Queens Park Bowling Club, on Glasgow’s Southside. When Covid-19 restrictions kicked in, sessions moved on-line and they worked in this way for nearly two years.
Since 2022 The Southside Group have performed live numerous times. Shows such as The Snow Queen and Christmas Tales have taken place at the group’s main HQ and across Glasgow libraries; while Another Nice Mess played three sold-out shows at the prestigious Tramway in summer 2023.
Along with the website, I’ve also done a lot of graphic design and music for the company.
Peter Bruntnell
The Guardian probably said it best when they said: “If we lived in a just world, Peter Bruntnell would by now be in the middle of his third or fourth global arena tour, his biggest worry working out how to courier his latest armful of Grammy awards back to the UK so his butler could have them installed in the west wing of mansion by the time he got home.”
Pete is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and all-round good guy who has released a stream of incredible records; Normal For Bridgwater, Peter & The Murder Of Crows and King Of Madrid amongst them.
2024 should see the release of his next banger, the brilliantly titled Houdini & The Sucker Punch.
Totally Tropical Villas
Ian and Helene live in Salobreña and run a property rental / property management company based on the exclusive Monte De Los Almendros urbanisation.
All the villas they have on their books are pretty impressive and, if you’re looking for a good place for a holiday, it’s not as expensive as you might think once you’ve split the cost between a few of you. I also ended up taking all the pictures on this site.
Ian supports Watford.
This Must Be The Place
Berlin-based music and culture website featuring a the kind of acts that might not usually get talked about in the mainstream music press.
This (I think) was my second or third German language website and that comes with it’s own problems – all of which I think I managed to solve.
Skye Loneragan
Skye Loneragan is an award-winning writer/performer and theatre director whose work spans theatre, poetry and live art.
Her first solo work Cracked won an Edinburgh Fringe First award, and she has recently toured her seventh solo work, Though This Be Madness, to the Scottish Highlands & Islands. She is a published performance poet and creator of ‘q-poetics’ and has worked in many different contexts as an artist-in-residence, most recently with Remembering Together, a Covid memorial project.
